Joy Jar
Another great inspiration from yoga. This also came from Mary at The Yoga Factory. She started class by telling us how a Christmas gift one year was a jar with a notepad. She was instructed that this was to be her "Joy Jar". She was to write down moments of joy that she experienced throughout her days and the put it in the Joy Jar. Then if she so happened to have a bad day or a moment of melancholy, all she had to do was dip into the Joy Jar. Mary further explained that often in life we are quick to focus on the negative, but to make an effort to focus on the positive. We've all heard this before but it's a great reminder! I have to say I am so joyful for discovering The Yoga Factory. I've been a devotee of yoga throughout the years and it can be difficult to find an instructor whose method that is in sync with you. The bonus is when you find an instructor who brings that added touch of something extra to the practice. It's thrilling when you leave class with a yoga high. It's even better when the whole mind-body-soul is affected. As a yoga instructor in California liked to say, "that's yoga love". Now go fill your Joy Jar!
